Jam making can be time-consuming and complicated but this super easy version only requires three ingredients and takes mere minutes.  Simply combine fresh or frozen berries with maple syrup and chia seeds to create a thick chunky fruity jam.  It’s incredibly versatile – spread it on sandwiches or toast, use it as a dessert topping, stir it through yoghurt or serve on freshly made pancakes. Give it a go today!

Ingredients:

600g of Fresh or Frozen Berries (I used frozen mixed berries)

4 Tablespoons of Maple Syrup or Honey

2 Tablespoons of Chia Seeds

Cooking Time: About 10 minutes

Cooling Time: About 3 hours

MAKES ABOUT 3 CUPS OF JAM

HOW TO STERILISE JARS:

1) Wash jars and lids in hot soapy water and rinse thoroughly

2) If using an OVEN, place jars on an oven tray and put them in a preheated oven at 120 degrees C / 248 degrees F for 10-20 minutes. Do not place lids in the oven as this may damage them. Instead, places lids in a medium saucepan and cover with water. Boil for 10 minutes.

If using a DISHWASHER, simply place the jars and lids in the top rack of your dishwasher and run them through a wash cycle on the hottest temperature setting. Do not add detergent or other items.

3) Once sterilised, carefully remove jars and lids and allow them to air dry. Avoid touching the interior surface of the jars or lids, or you will need to sterilise them again!
