Here in Australia, savoury pies and sausage rolls are iconic and amongst the most common hot snacks. Available for purchase everywhere from local bakeries, cafes and even convenience stores, they are the ultimate in portable eating.

We love the classic versions and newer, more exotic varieties. Every store has it’s own spin on these baked treats and everybody has a must-visit pie place they stop at regularly to get their hot pastry hit!

Cheesy Beef and Bacon Sausage Rolls

A delicious spin on the classic Sausage Roll, this version uses beef sausage meat, bacon and a generous amount of cheddar cheese to create a savoury sensation. Wrapped in golden puff pastry, these little babies are always a hit at parties or when feeding a crowd. You can even double or even triple the recipe and freeze the extras for another time!

Sweet Chilli Chicken Sausage Rolls

A light and tangy version of the classic Sausage Roll, this variant combines chicken breast mince, spring onions and Thai style sweet chilli sauce to create a slightly more exotic flavour that delightfully fuses the classic Aussie baked snack with a touch of South East Asian spice. Great for lunchboxes, party snacks or serves them for dinner with a side salad or steamed vegetables.

Easy Chicken and Vegetable Pies
